The Ghana National Music Festival

Promoting Artistic Development and Cultivating International Collaboration

In 2016 we learned of the specific needs our students have. We saw countless instruments in disrepair, students playing on ligatures held together by rubber bands, reeds that were almost unplayable, and instruments with multiple cracks, dents, and scratches in them. While it is our goal to bring a healthy supply of material back with us in 2017, it is also our goal to create a fun, safe, and competitive environment for the older students. The Student Spotlight Award is a way of creating this new competitive element while supplying one student with substantial, quality items to support their learning for the following year.  The sponsorship will include method books and accessories to aid the student in his/her studies as well as an invitation to give a solo recital during the following year's festival.
